To the south of Castro (to 26 km) there is Chonchi, whose name means " slippery land and which by his(her,your) geographical configuration is known as the city of " Three floors(flats) ". It(she) was founded on order of the Governor Guill de Gonzaga on August 3, 1767 and to her(it) it is possible to come for land or sailing along the channel Lemuy.

For land and to 4 km of Castro there is the Church of Nercón, of great size, with a massive tower. The altar and the imagery of his(her,your) interior is of great beauty. It is A National Monument.

16 km hereinafter(later on) Volipulli's Church is, also National monument. His(her,your) portal has 5 arches and a slender tower the wreath. It(he,she) does not have central ship and in the altar there is a seated virgin.

Chonchi is a beautiful settlement located in the hillside of a hill. There the golden liquor is sold, enguindados and the sweet so called breads " coils chonchinas ". All typical products of this people(village).
