The Costillar Is a dance that saw his(her, your) origins in the gatherings and meetings, specially of Chillán's zone. The costillar is a festive and competitive dance about a bottle placed in the center of the track. The characteristic of the costillar is the skill and agility of the dancers on having been dancing about a bottle put to the center of the track, on which they must go closing increasingly the circle. The dancers must jump, tap and redouble strongly about the bottle. The one that knocks down or throws the bottle must pay a fine or simply it(he,she) loses and must move back(retire) from the dancing floor. The Costillar is a dance of festive and competitive function about a bottle placed in the center of the track. There wins the pair(couple) who does not knock down any bottle. The Costillar is a dance of free and independent pair(couple) formed(trained) habitually by men, though sometimes it(she) is in the habit of being mixed. Several pairs(couples) can take part as(like) also the alone one. The melody presents little variety for the uninterrupted repetition like short refrain after every phrase of the words " poor person my costillar ". The Costillar is a dance very practised in Chiloé's Island.
