The
pericona
The
chilotes
consider
the
pericona
to
be
one
of
the
most
popular
dances
of
the
zone.
It
is a
dance
interpreted
in
all
the
Chiloé's
holidays(parties).
Four
persons
dance
it,
in
general,
with
step
escobillado,
handkerchief(scarf)
and
six
returns
of
right
are
realized
to
left
side.
Though
it
is a
dance
typically
chilote,
this
dance
has
been
dispersed
to
Valdivia,
the
Chilean
Patagonia
and
even
in
the
central
zone
where
there
is
called
he
"pericón".
It
is a
dance
of
free
and
independent
pairs(couples).
The
Pericona,
it
is a
local
creation,
is
constituted
in
his(her,your)
form
estrófica
by
seguidilla
of
four
and
seven
verses;
rudimentary
choreographic
elements
of
quadrille.
All
the
Chiloé's
holidays(parties)
met
encouraged
with
his(her,your)
presence:
the
Medán,
the
Lloco,
the
Minga,
even
some
of
religious
character
like
the
celebration
of
San
