The pericona The chilotes consider the pericona to be one of the most popular dances of the zone. It is a dance interpreted in all the Chiloé's holidays(parties). Four persons dance it, in general, with step escobillado, handkerchief(scarf) and six returns of right are realized to left side. Though it is a dance typically chilote, this dance has been dispersed to Valdivia, the Chilean Patagonia and even in the central zone where there is called he "pericón". It is a dance of free and independent pairs(couples). The Pericona, it is a local creation, is constituted in his(her, your) form estrófica by seguidilla of four and seven verses; rudimentary choreographic elements of quadrille. All the Chiloé's holidays(parties) met encouraged with his(her, your) presence: the Medán, the Lloco, the Minga, even some of religious character like the celebration of San Juan
